Project 49 Wyckoff

In September 2019, I was able to partner with my friend Lizzie Brennan and her agency Mother Meraki to transform a 40,000 sqft warehouse space into an artist’s paradise for over 100 creators during Bushwick Open Studios. Along with Ian Cinco, we curated the production of murals around the exterior of the building with works from local and international artists.

49 Wyckoff represents the future of the Bushwick/Ridgewood neighborhood where life, work, and play meld together in novel ways, in an earnest attempt to bring back a piece of the “old New York” where communities looked after their own and the city felt “livable” even if just for a moment on a crisp fall afternoon.

By allowing for artist’s to imprint their personal visions on otherwise blank industrial walls we take back a little bit of the public visual landscape that’s been saturated by algorithmically-perfect yet alienating marketing campaigns.
